This is a key role supporting the Finance Team in delivering high quality service and assisting the team in achieving Finance Dept goals and objectives.

The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for data entry system management including bank & credit card data processing, system amendments (Genius), production of Management Information, supporting the Underwriting Team with Broker liaison & credit control, managing the analysis/recording/reporting of Premium Tax data and delivering a high level of administration support to the Finance Team.  
The breadth of this role is multifunctional (e.g., credit control/receivables, premium taxes, bank payment processing/recording etc) and will require frequent interaction with the other members of the Finance team , the Underwriting Team and external service providers and other Chubb Group employees in Ireland and elsewhere.
 
 
Key accountabilities:
  • To undertake general administration duties that will support the Finance Team in delivery of high quality information
  • Accurate and efficient processing of data 
  • Due care and attention in managing commercial relationships with third party service providers and other Chubb Group employees.  
  • Produce and maintain various internal reports.
  • To manage the monthly expense analysis and processing of transactions associated with the credit cards held by employees. 
  • Data entry to various systems - Information relating to premium flows, expense flows, regulatory submissions and other transactional tasks. 
  • Liaison with brokers and the Underwriting Team using both the eAccounting platform or via direct interaction with broker offices. 
  • This could include chasing closings, checking on premium figures, agreeing cash settlements, amending entries in Genius and supporting the receivables meeting process. 
  • Liaise with the Underwriting Department to prepare information for brokers and reinsurers. 
  • To be the Finance contact responsible for all facets of Premium Taxes and to make quarterly returns to the central Chubb tax department for all the jurisdictions in which there are obligations to file Returns.

 

Required Experience:
  • An acceptable standard of general education (including Leaving Certificate with strong honours in English, Accounting & Mathematics)
  • Level 6 or 7 Finance related qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Working towards an Accounting Technician or ACCA qualification or a strong desire to move towards completing that qualification.
  • Previous experience of the insurance industry, with an audit firm or Accounting Services Company is desirable.
  • Working with third parties / overseas counterparties demonstrating a professional knowledge of accounting, credit control, premium tax and financial transactions is desirable.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience and familiarity with MS office packages, particularly word and excel, Genius, Workview and Peoplesoft would be an advantage.
