Assistant Finance Manager (full-time, part-time considered)

As Assistant Finance Manager, you will be part of the Financial Management Team responsible for the production of the monthly management accounts and annual statutory financial reporting. You will support the Finance Manager and, in relation to designated budget holders, take lead responsibility, to ensure key financial targets are met. As part of this role you will demonstrate an ability to act as a key point of contact for a designated portfolio area providing financial guidance and advice. You will also be key in ensuring the University’s financial performance is accurately and professionally reported and managed.

You will have experience of preparing financial reports, budgets and forecasts, implementing financial controls and audit procedures. Experience of working with Microsoft Excel in order to create high quality reports is essential together with having a good knowledge of the use of IT with the ability to exchange information and data between a variety of office, financial and other resource management software. With strong interpersonal, communication and persuasion skills, you will apply your organisational expertise in both a team environment and independently. 

Prior experience of working in an education setting is advantageous but not essential.
