My client based in the Wakefield area is seeking to recruit an experienced bookkeeper to assist in managing the day to day accounting and financial requirements. Reporting to the Director the ideal candidate for this position will be a skilled bookkeeper who is reliable and is committed to consistently meeting deadlines. On a day to day basis you will be responsible for;
• Balancing and maintaining accurate ledgers
• Bank reconciliations
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns
• Credit control and cash allocation
• Inputting payroll in preparation for the Accountants to process
• Construction Industry scheme (CIS) - experience is desirable but not essential
• Developing monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit & loss and balance sheet
Applicants must be able to demonstrate on their CV a strong background in bookkeeping, experience of working within the construction industry is desirable. You will be proficient in Excel and ideally have working knowledge of Xero, though training can be given. You will be confident working on your own initiative and possess good communication skills.
