Experienced Bookkeeper Required – Remote Working · Maternity Cover – Potential for permanent · 25 hours per week – we offer flexible hours. · £10 - £13 per hour depending on experience. Currently the position will be solely working from home, but when it reopens,, one day per week will be in our office based in Redhill, Surrey. We wish to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper for maternity cover with an initial period of 8 months, which could be extended to a permanent position at the end of the contract to the right person and if there is capacity. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining client bookkeeping, preparing VAT returns and year-end accounts. On various accounting software and excel. The successful candidate will have at least two years bookkeeping experience, along with experience of both excel and online software - QuickBooks, Xero, Kashflow and VT. The candidate will have a desire to work in a busy environment, with a willingness to provide support and assistance as directed to the Operations Manager. Candidates should possess a can do and positive attitude. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.You should be a team player but also able to work independently, self-motivated, display a positive approach to work and have the ability to get things done. Candidates should have proven demonstrable experience of working to and attaining tight deadlines. Key Responsibilities · Dealing with a broad spectrum of client businesses · Working with Excel and online software, specifically Xero, Quickbooks, Kashflow, VT · Checking trial balances · Processing bank reconciliations · Analysing bank transactions · Checking profit and loss balance sheets · Journaling accounts adjustments · Inputting income and expense information · Creating and processing supplier customer accounts · Preparing VAT returns and submitting in line with HMRC Making Tax Digital requirements · Composing correspondence to clients, HMRC, Companies House and others · Reconciling HMRC accounts with the accountancy software packages · Preparing year end accounts to pass to accountant for finalisation · Ensuring that strong client relationships are built to successfully foster good working relationships · Filing in a systematic manner clients’ paperwork · Meeting deadlines within agreed timeframes · Ad hoc tasks as required.
