The Opportunity

WeAreEDF and are leading the transition to a cleaner, low emission electric future, tackling climate change and helping Britain achieve net zero. At this time we are recruiting within Customers Finance: Business Reporting, Risk & Analysis team, responsible for the communication of financial performance, key risk areas, and business health. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant to be responsible for establishment and delivery of core balance sheet controls as well as supporting in the creation of external analysis through the review of competitors industry reporting.

Join us on a fixed term basis for 12 months. The role sits within customers, supplying gas and electricity to residential and business customers across the UK and providing wholesale market optimisation of EDF Energy’s generation and customer assets. The Senior Analyst will take pride in ensuring the governance and review processes are conducted to a defined schedule, providing insight and action points to the Customers finance function safeguarding future performance and process adherence. EDF is the market leader in electricity supply to business customers with a c.20% market share and has c.11% (4th largest supplier) in the residential market.

The Person

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join us, ideally with a finance background and/or degree educated in a related field. Senior Analysts who can facilitate in the Customers audit process and ensure queries are understood and closed in a timely manner will thrive in this role.

What does being a Business Performance Senior Analyst mean?

We’re offering an opportunity to be part of EDF’s ambitions to maintain the Customers accounting policy manual, adding new areas and ensure alignment to group guidance. Analysing the impacts on the balance sheet of our latest forecast to identify and vocalise risk areas supporting marketing with competitors financial reporting analysis.

The Skills

  • Being qualified with a widely recognised accounting body is a strong preference.

  • Data analytics.

  • Finance systems I.E. SAP & ANAPLAN.

  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with advanced Excel and Powerpoint knowledge.

  • Logical with strong analytical skills.

  • Excellent commercial acumen, ability to assimilate information quickly and interpret the “so what” resilience to change and challenge.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.

  • Being able to work both independently and part of a team.
