This is a wonderful role with purpose working for a local charity in Wallingford (South Oxfordshire) and a rare opportunity to make a real difference to a community.
The Centre Manager has overall responsibility for the effective implementation of strategy, ensuring the management and smooth running of The Centre. Working closely with the trustee board, staff and volunteers they will ensure that the Centre is a vibrant, well-run facility for local residents and that it works to help achieve local residents’ vision for the area.
The Trustees are looking to appoint someone to start in January 2021, and to build on the work of their current Manger in a phased handover. The vision is for someone to initially take on the planning and delivery of a new afterschool project which would support the learning and raise the aspiration of local primary schoolchildren.
This role would suit someone who is self-reliant, energetic and able to prioritise activities.
The successful candidate will also need a commitment to helping members of the community get involved as volunteers, to help them manage tasks and activities at the Centre such as the Community Larder, school homework sessions, children’s centre activities etc. They will have passion, enthusiasm, drive and energy with a strong commitment to make a real difference in supporting the vulnerable and disadvantaged. Ideally they will also have a track record of developing and delivering services.
