The Great Learners Trust has expanded to a dynamic community of 7 schools, and has recently won DFE Trust Capacity Funding to continue this development. The Trust is based in Buckinghamshire.

We are responsible for:

  • 2,400 children
  • Over 350 employees
  • Over £8 million public money

This is a new and exciting role to join our expanding multi academy trust.

The role of CFO is key to achieving this aim.

The Development of the Great Learners Trust

The Trust was established in April 2014 with Great Missenden as the founding school.

Since then we have been joined by:

  • Princes Risborough Primary School
  • Great Kimble School
  • Wooburn Green Primary School
  • Bedgrove Junior School
  • Elmhurst School
  • Bearbrook Combined School

The Trust is expected to grow further over the next 5 years – the Strategic Plan is published on the GLT website.

The role:

The Chief Financial Officer will report to the CEO / Trustees and be responsible for the financial reporting and controllership of the Great Learners Trust, as well as supporting its development and sustainability. The CFO will be the Trust’s Accounting Officer.

The CFO will be expected to provide operational line management for the GLT Central Finance Team. The CFO will be responsible for all the financial accounting and transactional finance for the Trust, ensuring all systems are updated and reporting is timely and in line with all annual financial returns.

The CFO will be commercially focused and will provide clear financial and commercial direction for the Trust.  The CFO will be tasked with keeping ahead of all funding and legislative changes that apply to the education sector and required to advise the Trust Board of strategic financial information to enable them to make informed decisions.
