The Commercial Assurance practice sits within Risk Assurance - one of the five lines of service at PwC.
About the Team:
Over the last 15 years our Commercial Assurance team has worked alongside a wide range of businesses, including many of the world's largest firms, helping them to make better commercial decisions. During this time we have grown to a team of 60+ individuals with a presence in most of our national offices.
Our mix of Capital Projects, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Legal and Technology experts, combined with Accountants and Risk Management professionals, armed with the latest emerging technology, provides a winning formula of Commercial Advisory and Assurance services for our clients.
We work with a range of clients to help them manage risk and monetise opportunities with their third party relationships. We have an ambitious growth strategy with Senior Associates being key in helping to achieve this.
About the Role:
As a senior associate, you will be integral to the delivery of a wide range of engagements. For example:
Securing cost recoveries from suppliers as part of a cost reduction initiative
Identifying risks in your client’s critical IT contracts and governance models
Advising on contract effectiveness against best practice and compliance with contract terms
You will achieve this by using the rigour of assurance combined with a commercial lens focussing on customer, partner and supplier relationships. By working with subject matter experts in our team and on firm wide engagements, you will soon learn new skills and realise the value of the one firm approach.
You will work across a diverse range of well-known clients within our Commercial and Government practice and have the opportunity to contribute to exciting and iconic projects right from the start. You will also have the opportunity to work on global projects, collaborating with PwC colleagues and clients all over the world.
We encourage all of our senior associates to gain experience across multiple markets and our client portfolio includes some of the top companies in the world, in Entertainment & Media, Pharmaceuticals & Life Sciences, Telecoms & Technology, Energy, Utilities & Mining, Retail & Consumer and Industrial Products as well as world class Government & Public Sector organisations.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Ability to clearly articulate complex messages in a simple way
Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and clients at all levels, and good report writing skills
Ability and tenacity to manage difficult client stakeholders
Ability to quickly engage, connect and extract information (client facing soft skills) with strong listening and questioning techniques
Ability to build strong relationships with clients and with PwC teams;

Audit experience preferred but not required
By working in Commercial Assurance some of the skills and experiences you will attain:
An understanding of how our clients make key business decisions across a variety of functions (e.g. Finance, IT, Procurement, Commercial, Operations)
An understanding of how these decisions impact business performance and/or our client's largest projects and programmes;
An understanding of risks and opportunities in key third party relationships;
Improved consulting soft skills e.g. influencing others and presenting with confidence;
Experience in evaluating and performing commercial risk assessments;

A background in commercial assurance and/or capital project experience would be a positive, however our main want is to have someone with passion and awareness around how the clients operate their businesses in the day to day world and manage their Capital programmes and who wants to help our clients manage their risks and solve issues.
