This is a fascinating role right at the heart of the Consulting line of service. The Consulting Commercial team is a growing team that has had a great impact on the Consulting Strategy. They provide meaningful insight and data that enables the business to create value for clients and achieve their goals. The work undertaken covers a range of areas from managing important internal senior client relationships, educating staff on effective use of internal financial systems, and advising across a range of financial areas.

As a member of the Commercial Team your impact will be seen by

  • Providing support and counsel to Partners and key engagement leads involved in the sale of complex consulting engagements by driving commercially sound decision-making

  • Working closely with the Finance Director, key senior stakeholders and the broader client teams to support engagement commercials

  • Driving and improving the commercial understanding of all team members and key engagement staff within the business

  • Enabling the business to make profitable pricing decisions by supporting bid and proposal teams with accurate and robust price modelling, including alternative delivery models and appropriate negotiation support through the entire lifecycle pursuit

  • Leading key regular analytics on price and profitability performance across the firm, providing insights to senior leadership and bringing experiences learnt from other projects and sectors

  • Collaborating with other teams to improve pricing and profitability across Consulting

The individual

  • Provide commercially focused solutions and insight, drawing on commercial and technical knowledge, and excellent interpersonal skills to drive, influence and challenge the business to achieve short and long term commercial objectives.

  • Have a background in broad commercial analysis and support roles impacting profit and loss and an appetite to use new technologies alongside a strong excel competence

  • A solid background in commercial contracting principles, subcontracting and general business practices and a project management understanding of finance principles and project delivery lifecycles

  • Able to influence senior stakeholders by applying a robust commercial lens, analysing detail and articulating these effectively

  • Work collaboratively in an innovative environment, solving problems and reimagining the possible for our clients and stakeholders
