The Role
The Data Governance Analyst role will be key to achieving the vision and supporting the operational imperatives of:
1. In support of a data orientated Shared Services to focus on operational and transaction based activities including market data collection, aggregation, analytics and Business Intelligence and Management Information reporting and integrate related 'shadow' activities across the organisation
2. In support of Protect, Promote and Provide, Data Governance will deliver improved assurance in operating efficiencies and effectiveness 3. Achieving cost efficiencies in targeted areas e.g.
consistent data governance

What Will You Do?
* Contribute to the operational data quality processes for Solvency II as defined within the Lloyd's Data Quality Policy and associated Data Standards
* Undertake a central role in setting up new data quality processes for non-Solvency II data
* Responsible for ongoing operations related to Solvency II Data Directory, associated reporting and internal audits
* Responsible for Solvency II Data Deficiency process including working with data and process owners on the logging, impact assessment, resolution and communication of incidents
* Conduct the Solvency II risk and impact assessment for material data
* Deliver the appropriate data quality management information reporting to the Data Governance Manager, Data Steering Group, Data Working Group, LIM manager and risk committees
* Contribute to the evaluation of alternative business processes and/or software to improve the data governance from quality prospective
* Act as a member of the Data Stewardship Community (DSC) or other data groups as part of the Data Governance Structure

What You'll Need
Skills
* Extensive skills in the practice of data quality and data processes principles and best practice at a corporate level.
* Good reporting and data analysis experience
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, investigate, and distribute significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to understand the underlying issues in complex problems or situations by correctly relating these to simpler or better understood concepts, models or previous experiences.
* Understand the needs, objectives and constraints of those in other disciplines and functions
* Take account of new information or changed circumstances and modifying understanding of a problem or situation accordingly
* Identifying gaps in the available information required to understand a problem or situation and devising means of remedying such gaps
* Understand the hierarchy and culture of organisations and being able to identify the decision makers and influencers
* Proficient in the application of automated systems to the support of specific business functions or processes

Knowledge
* Extensive knowledge of data quality and data processes principles and best practice at a corporate level
* Cross-Functional and Inter-Disciplinary Awareness Understanding the needs, objectives and constraints of those in other disciplines and functions
* Knowledge of the application of data modelling, database design, ETL and data flow
Experience
* Proven working experience as a Data Governance/Quality Analyst
* Experience gained within business environments in Data Governance/Quality
* Extensive experience on data quality and data processes principles and best practice at a corporate level
* Proven working experience as a Data Governance/Quality Analyst
* Track record of explaining complicated technical processes or issues in a business language
