An opportunity to join West London Trust research as a data scientist is being advertised.
West London Trust Research has as a key strategic objective to ensure that good clinical care in underpinned by good research and evidence base and that research is driven by clinical questions. As such we would like to increase our capacity to support important data projects that are of clinical relevance to the trust, whether as part of research or service evaluation. We are therefore seeking an enthusiastic, highly skilled and innovative person to support clinicians and researchers in the trust with the data extraction and analysis of data from big data sources The successful applicant will work in partnership with clinicians in the trust to undertake early scoping of projects to identify the appropriate data source and feasibility of the project, support data extraction and analysis and work with clinicians to interpret findings in clinical context. They will also contribute to presenting results tailored to relevant audiences, and authorship of reports and publications arising.
They will support feasibility research funding applications and to promote West London Trust as a research active organisation. This includes joint working and joint funding submissions with academic partners.
Applications are sought for individuals with skills and experience in analysis of routine data preferably in health or social care) and a background in epidemiology, statistics, health service research, operational research, or related informatics backgrounds to work on research in the e-records research field. Applicants should have experience in the analysis of large complex data (preferably in health or social care), as well as excellent data analysis and visualisation skills.
The post is for 6 months fixed term with plans to create a substantive post if the post results in the desired outputs.
