Departmental Administrator

The role:

New Cross, London

Under the direction of the Senior Admininstrator, you will work closely with all the other professional staff who provide administrative support to the Department and with all the academic staff in the Department (both established and associate).  You will support the Head of Department (HoD) and Senior Administrator in all aspects of the operation of this large and multi-faceted department and foster efficient and timely communication with all its stakeholders.

You will have a degree or other relevant professional qualification; advanced experience of the Higher Education sector, knowledge of its evolving landscape and commitment to its purposes; understanding of the complex workings of an academic department; experience of an administrative role, of managing resources, and good interpersonal skills. A good level of oral and written communication skills, IT skills and an ability to work together in a team are required.

Staff already employed by Goldsmiths would be seconded to the position for one year initially, and therefore would not lose their status as permanent employees.
