 About the Team

This role is within the Hardware Technology and Experience team, part of the Product and  Propositions team.   The team is responsible for ensuring that all products and services meet Telefonica’s high-quality standard, that they have the best possible customer experience and to safeguard the O2 brand.  The team is also responsible for sharing their extensive product knowledge with the rest of the UK and global teams to aid great conversations with customers.

About the Role

  • To test full user/customer experience on devices to ensure a great O2 experience on every device.

  • To report bugs and clearly documentat what has been tested.

  • Work with technical representatives from internal teams as well as device vendors if additional fault diagnosis needs to be performed.

  • Assess Usability of devices and make recommendations for improvements.

  • Contribute to the improvement of test processes and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Producing Test Plan and Test Cases based on requirements and specification document.

  • Performing field testing on devices on regular basis – which includes troubleshooting, reporting and communicating defects to relevant Technical Account managers and Test managers.

  • Performing function and performance tests on mobile handsets, broadband components and any other related products.

  • Carefully documenting test failures and raising defect reports .

  • Verifying that defects are due to the device under test and not the environment or user error.

  • Working with Senior testers, technical specialists and Technical Device managers on defect resolution .

  • Assisting in the review of existing test cases and in the production of new tests and processes.

Key Skills & Experience

  • ISEB foundation Certificate in Software Testing, useful but not essential.

  • A Degree in a relevant technical subject e.g Communications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering. 

  • Very good understanding of mobile device technology (radio, networks, services and technology).

  • Attention to detail and a questioning approach to work.

  • Self-organised with logical and diagnostic thought skills.

  • Excellent and clear communications skills.

  • Team player .
