About the role
Working with authority and professionalism, the Digital and Motion Designer will work as part of the Social Media team (3 or 4 days per week) and service the PR and Marketing teams to ensure high quality digital design work at all times.
The Digital and Motion Designer is an important contact point in an agency, so they can expect to be offering advice and sharing knowledge with colleagues on a regular basis. This role will benefit from the PHA flexible working policy and the successful candidate will be able to take on freelance work outside of the core working hours, whilst ensuring that PHA work is prioritised. As well as attend meetings and briefings with clients and teammates, the Digital and Motion Designer will be based in an agile office environment. Develop the agency’s digital design capability through leadership and inventive concepts, the aim is to set both online and offline campaigns apart from those of competitors. Take responsibility as the in-house digital design expert, offering advice, feedback, and ideas to innovate and increase reach and viewer relationships. Deliver creative visual assets, digital static, and motion design that bring our client’s social content to life. The fullest understanding of graphic design, typography, and digital standards is essential, as is the experience to execute projects of all sizes and complete them with resourcefulness and dedication. Culturally clued-up and immersed in social media culture, with an understanding of what a millennial-minded audience loves to watch and engage with on social platforms, as well as how corporate and B2B social media strategies differ, and the design execution required for such audiences.
Expert knowledge of these software packages and languages is imperative: After Effects Final Cut Pro InDesign Illustrator Photoshop Canva Additional video editing software, including Premiere Pro HTML Coding (preferred) CSS (preferred)
What you will be doing
The specific details of the Digital and Motion Designer’s role do vary, but common activities include: Key role in ensuring brand consistency across PHA’s new business function for all proposal and pitch documents, ensuring creative ideas have been presented in the best way. Producing high-quality digital assets to support our Social Media and Marketing teams and their clients, for use on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube. Forging and executing exciting ideas for The PHA Group Marketing campaigns for both internal and external use. Generating ideas and selling them into clients and other members of the PR teams. Collaborating across the agency to drive up standards of digital creativity. Attending social client brainstorms and contributing creative ideas and social-first asset suggestions.
The Digital and Motion Designer needs a wide range of capabilities, including: At least 3 years’ social media design experience Total familiarity with key social media platforms, new tools, features, specification, and their ever-evolving formats In-depth digital design capabilities Strong written and verbal communication skills An eye for photography and composition, with product shoot experience preferable Ability to produce eye-catching and engaging infographics using supplied data Ability to meet deadlines and take ownership of your own work schedule Problem solving skills The ability to think creatively and deliver clever concepts The foresight to put themselves in the shoes of the user Meticulous attention to detail Significant graphic design experience
Hours: Hours will be 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30am to 4pm on Friday.
