Our company: We are the leading provider of issuer sponsored research, capitalising on the changes being brought about through the new MiFID 2 regulations. We began as a UK start up 15 years ago and have grown into a global operation with offices in London, New York, Sydney, Frankfurt, Wellington and Tel Aviv. We work with 430 clients today across 28 different exchanges to ensure that their equity story gets visibility with investors. We’ve built a reputation for high quality analysis which is core to the culture of the business and also means our research is widely read amongst the global investor community. We are owner managed with no significant external shareholders.
The team: We organise our teams by sector, looking to develop global domain expertise in sector niches over time. There is a strong team ethos, with Edison staff and consultants working together and supporting each other. We have a team of 120, of which 80 are on the research side of the business. Not all of these are full time. A core part of Edison’s strategy and strength is the team of part time and freelance analysts that it uses to produce it’s research. Edison has a team of 20 senior analysts who report to the Director of Research. Each of these senior analysts then manage a team of associates, part time analysts and freelance analysts.
How we support flexible working: We have a proven track record of engaging with working parents. We work with a variety of Mums: from those who are returning to work and are looking to rebuild their confidence to those who enjoy the benefits of an ongoing flexible and fulfilling career in equity research. We encourage our freelancers to initially spend time in the office so they can become familiar with our processes, and systems but most importantly to become part of the team. The amount of time in the office is flexible depending on how much support is needed - some analysts almost entirely work from home. We’re also comfortable working with returning mothers at different paces depending on their needs. For some we are able to move quickly to build up coverage and a part time role, for others we can start at a more gentle pace.
Describe the role: We are looking for individuals with significant experience in producing investment research within the Real Estate sector
Skills & Expertise: We would expect you to be comfortable dealing with PLC directors and investors and possess first class analytical, writing and communication skills. As part of our recruitment process, we will ask you to undertake modelling and writing tests.
Where and when: You will be based mainly in our Holborn offices and will attend regular results and client meetings; you will also have the opportunity to work from home.
