Beeline is on a mission to help the world have better journeys on two wheels. We’re looking for a finance manager to take our financial processes, planning, decision-making and risk management to the next level.

We believe bikes are a big part of the future, and we want our navigation and mapping technology to help make that happen.

Our first product, a navigation device for bicycles, launched on Kickstarter in 2015 and went off with a bang. We launched a second product for motorcycles in 2018 which was even more successful and are now building the new version of the cycling device along with several large B2B partnerships. We now have tens of thousands of customers all around the world, growing all the time. With our sales increasing through both B2C and B2B, and our supply chain getting more complex, we want to invest in our finance capabilities to make more informed business decisions and set ourselves up for our next phase of growth.

We’re looking for a finance manager to take our financial processes, planning and decision-making and risk management to the next level. A portion of your role will be to manage and optimise the ‘housekeeping’ finance functions that are performed by our external accountants - bookkeeping, payments, tax, and payroll. Here the basic goal is to account accurately for every penny going in and out of Beeline, whilst making sure we get paid on time and we pay others on time. We want you to make this your own… think we should implement a new expense management tool? Let’s do it. Think we need a different payroll process? Convince us it’s better and we’ll go for it.

Alongside keeping the house in order, you’ll work closely with Mark and Tom, the co-founders, on financial planning, risk-management, forecasting, stock control, fundraising and supporting various business decisions. You can expect to get involved in all areas of the company over time, whether it’s product development, logistics, marketing, investor relations, B2B dealmaking, or the social budget!

To nail this role you’ll first and foremost be excited by what the company is doing and the part you can play in that. Alongside that, you’ll be well-versed in all the financial processes mentioned above and have a good theoretical understanding of management accounting. You’ll be as reliable as clockwork on the weekly and monthly numbers, but you’ll also be adaptable enough to put your knowledge to work to support a wide range of business decisions. You’ll be good at working with a broad range of people, and generally have a rosy, positive outlook.

At Beeline we’re committed to diversity and inclusivity. Not only because it’s right and fair but because bringing together people from all walks of life adds richness that helps us be better in every way. So no matter your background, who you are or how you identify, we’ll make sure you feel at home here.

We’re a very close-knit team of 17, with everyone taking on their own different responsibilities. People very quickly find that they become an important part of our Beeline “family”; we’d love for you to be part of that too! We’re proud of our culture and we dedicate a lot of time and energy into protecting that.

In a normal year, we do regular socials, an annual retreat, and generally try to have a great time doing our thing every day. This year some of these things have been a bit different, but we’re doing our best to keep our culture strong. Everyone takes their work seriously, but nobody takes themselves too seriously. That’s how we like to do things.

The role

Initially we are looking for someone to work 2 days per week and we are open minded as to how this could work. It could be full days or half days, in the office in London or mostly remote. We are interested in hearing from you and seeing how your needs might match ours. Wherever and whenever you end up working, we’ll make sure that you feel fully part of the team.
