We are now looking for a Finance Manager on a part-time basis to lead our finance function and get stuck in from the get go.

The Role

As a Finance Manager, you will maintain the Foundation’s accounting and payroll records in accordance with the Companies Act, Inland Revenue and other charity legislation.

Leading from the front, you will:

  • Generate management information to users to provide visibility and insight which will help guide the foundation to further success

  • Manage the Foundation’s funds on a day to day basis

  • Monitor investments

  • Manage banking processes and maintain balances within various Foundation bank accounts

  • Prepare returns for funding bodies in conjunction with the grants team

  • Prepare year end accounts and produce working papers in preparation for audit

In this wide-reaching role, you will also be required to undertake other duties from time to time as required by the CEO.

About You

To join us as a Finance Manager, you will need:

  • To be ACCA, CIMA and/or ACA qualified, or possess equivalent experience

  • Experience of working with Sage 50

  • Experience of working as part of a management team

  • Demonstrable people management experience

Ideally, you will have worked in the charitable/third sector previously; however, this is not an essential requirement but would be advantageous to your application.

Other organisations may call this role Finance Team Leader, Management Accountant, Finance Lead, Company Accountant, Accountant, Chartered Accountant, Financial Controller, or Financial Accountant.

This is a part-time role, working 17.5-21 hours per week, over any three days, however these hours can be worked over five days. We are flexible on the exact nature of the working arrangements. It is anticipated that at busy periods, such as accounting year end, more hours will be required.
