Financial Controller5 days per monthRole Description:Reporting to the two owner/Directors, the Financial Controller will be critical to sustaining our current success as Essential Group enters its next chapter of growth. The role is ideal for an ambitious and skilled individual who is looking for an opportunity to challenge themselves, grow in their career and add real value within a fast-paced setting.Must be ACCA Qualified with at least 2 years Financial Controller experience alongside previous experience within an Accountancy Practice and 5 years SAGE 50 accounts package experience.Your key role will be supporting and managing our full time Accounts ManagerWhat you will be personally responsible for: * Preparing and publishing timely monthly and year-end accounts working with external accountants * Calculate year-end Tax and statutory reporting * Preparation of a monthly, quarterly and annual business analytics dashboard with monthly/weekly management figures, sales/ cashflow forecasts and reporting any variances, trends * Work with directors to develop the overall cost control strategy and ensure effective control procedures are in place. * Evaluate the financial impact of new initiatives * Analyze and report on marketing, operational and labour costs monthly * Contributing to company financial strategy and decision-making processes. * VAT Returns * CIS Returns * HMRC submissions & payments * Bank ReconciliationsHow you will support the bookkeeper: * Uploading purchase invoices to SAGE 50 accounts package. * Ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded and filed * Payroll, CIS, subcontractor payments * Credit control, expenses, refunds * Go Cardless direct debit processWe are looking for the following * Proven working experience as a Financial Controller or Assistant Finance Controller in fast pace and high growth environments. * A Qualified Accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA, with 2+ years of Post Qualified Experience. * Experience with creating budgets, consolidated management reports and financial statements. * Experience of strong technical knowledge, especially regarding controls and process implementation. * Strong management and organisational skills and the ability to work independently to tight month/year-end deadlines. * A high level of proficiency in SAGE 50, MS Excel, Google Sheets and financial modelling skills. * A professional and pragmatic individual that is confident within a senior role. * The ability to collaborate and challenge cross-functionally and be the voice of finance within the business. * Excellent attention to detail, good analytical skills, and the ability to analyze numbers quickly and accurately and to communicate them easily to non-finance colleagues. * Additionally, you will have excellent communication skills, be a real self-starter capable of working as part of a small team and combine both technical and commercial finance skills.Part-time, Permanent2 days per weekSalary: £12,000.00-£15,000.00 per yearJob Types: Part-time, Permanent
