Financial Controller (Part-Time)

A leading Consumer organisation with an amazing culture and who are an instantly recognisable brand, are currently recruiting for a Part-Time Financial Controller to report into the CFO 2-3 days a week. This is an amazing opportunity for someone who is comfortable working in an environment that is very fast paced.

This new part time role provides a great opportunity to lead and oversee accounting, tax and treasury within the business. This role is critical in ensuring the business is both compliance and optimising against accounting and fiscal principles.

The successful Part-Time Financial Controller duties:

  • Communicating with external auditors and managing the year-end audit process
  • Deliver elements of YE audit process and statutory reporting
  • Acting as the main point of contact for any technical accounting questions
  • Ad hoc projects and support including Risk Management
  • Lead the approach to taxation management process (both direct and indirect tax) and compliance systems development within the business with an emphasis on the systemised approach to compliance, achievement of planning outcomes, management of risk and an understanding of internal and external influences
  • Ownership for corporation tax computations
  • Manage RDEC process effectively
  • Develop and manage relationships with the external tax advisers
  • Lead the interactions with the HMRC including managing risk reviews and audit interventions
  • Ensure  business plans/projects incorporate identified optimised tax opportunities
  • Support in the management of bank relationships and facilities, including covenant reporting, quarterly updates, refinancing, renewals and bank charges

Skills and experience of the successful Part-Time Financial Controller:

  • ACA Qualified, Big 4 ideally
  • Successfully delivered in a similar lead role in a fast-paced, blue chip industry environment
  • A passion for technical accounting and reporting
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly self-motivated and strives to continually improve ways of working
  • Confident, credible communicator - can build relationships with a range of senior stakeholders and also translate highly technical information to those not as savvy
  • Positive and proactive approach to problem solving

Salary: 90-100k Pro Rata
