The Paddy Power Sports Commercial Team is responsible for the overall revenue for the online Paddy Power Sports business. We are tasked with defining and ensuring consistent delivery of a customer led proposition that will help drive us to achieve our vision of being, the UK&I’s most popular betting and gaming brand. 

This role will report to the Commercial Director, Paddy Power Sports. The overall purpose of the role is to grow revenues within the Paddy Power Sports business, the remit will be wide ranging, taking responsibility for a variety of business areas and projects. One key area of focus will be the development and commercial ownership of an industry leading Free to Play proposition. 

The successful candidate for this role will have an opportunity to influence our strategy and drive performance of the PP Sports business. They will own key stakeholder relationships and will have significant exposure to senior management across the organisation. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Drive P&L performance of Paddy Power Sports business to ensure we exceed our revenue targets 
• Understand growth drivers and customer behaviours. Ensuring that the customer is central to our decision-making process 
• Own the commercial performance of our “Free to Play” proposition, working with product and marketing teams to build a strategy and deliver commercial outcomes 
• Own commercial performance of our “Refer and Earn” scheme, delivering a strategy to grow into a meaningful source of acquisition 
• Own commercial performance for our Phones business. Manage implementation of strategy which focuses on cost efficiency whilst maintaining revenue from our higher value customers 
• Own existing and future relationships with third parties who have a direct relationship with the Paddy Power Sports Commercial team 
• Manage business improvement projects which touch a wide variety of areas across the company. Communicate business improvement plans to senior management, tracking these plans and ensuring that they are amended where necessary 
• Line management of a team of 2-3; ensure the team deliver against their objectives and are given development opportunities to learn and grow

Education, Qualifications & Experience 

• Experience working in a commercial management role, taking actions to grow revenues 
• Skilled at assimilating numerous sources of information to make or change decisions 
• Ability to prioritise and focus on what really matters and to communicate these decisions in a timely manner 
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the business 
• Strong personal presence and presentation; ability to feel comfortable when surrounded by senior stakeholders and speak with confidence 
• Ability to build successful relationships and positively influence people – including direct reports, peers and stakeholders 
• Team player with personal characteristics that engender trust and confidence 
• Experience in line management of a team including successful coaching and development of people 
• Undergraduate qualified (or higher), ideally 2-1 hons or better from a reputable university 
• Professional qualifications will be looked upon favourably
