PLEASE NOTE: This role is offered on a job share basis and will work alongside our existing Head of Individual Giving to co- lead the ambitious and energetic individual giving team at the Donmar three days per week. The appointed candidate will have a working specialism in major giving OR memberships.
The Donmar Warehouse raises more money as a percentage of income than any other subsidised theatre in the country. Each year we raise over £4m from a strong combination of individuals, corporates and trusts and foundations, in 16/17 securing £6.70 for every £1 received from the Arts Council.
The Head of Individual Giving is a key senior role within the Development Team with direct responsibility for the overall management and strategic view of the Donmar’s membership giving – from Friends at £75 to Platinum Director’s Forum at £12,000.
The position is also responsible for working collaboratively with the Director of Development to research, plan, recruit, and steward major gifts of £25k and above, as well as be a key collaborator in the planning of the upcoming Capital Campaign.
The Head of Individual Giving will manage the Development Manager and Development Officer. They will actively set best practice, and support the individual giving team in delivering a top level of service and stewardship to all individual supporters, including thoughtful communications, accurate and HMRC compliant record-keeping and timely acknowledgement of all gifts.
The post holder will also work closely with the Development and Education Committee. Ambitious financial targets will be met with creativity, collaboration, warmth, passion, and sensitivity – at the centre of which will sit fundraising best practice.
