Reporting to our Head of Recruitment, your role will be a 12-month fixed term contract covering maternity leave. 

This role is a generalist role encompassing all aspects of human resources. You will work collaboratively with members of the senior leadership team to continuously review our policies in line with our People First philosophy.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Dealing with various HR queries throughout the business
  • New Employee Inductions 
  • HR system training 
  • Monitoring key metrics, such as turnover and retention rates
  • Producing new starter documentation
  • Providing advice and playing a major role in work reviews and change processes
  • Using HR information systems to access, input and compile data 
  • Compiling reports for CRO - analysing data, presenting findings
  • Identifying development needs
  • Managing staff relationships, responding to any queries or problems that they have and managing their expectations 
  • Researching and recommending performance evaluation methods (e.g. employee appraisal systems)
  • Monitoring, reviewing and updating all HR policies and ensuring these are in line with current legislation
  • Leading on various capability investigations, employee relations and in delivering the overall people strategy in line with business goals
  • Driving the business performance in relation to the organisation’s objectives
  • Assisting in organising employer branding initiatives
  • Acting as the first point of contact for Managers / employees
  • Carrying out exit interviews and leaver processes
  • Monitoring staff absences 
  • Facilitating our pension offering with support of Financial Adviser. 
  • Reviewing and implementing company benefits 
  • Reviewing and updating company policies 
  • Supporting our Diversity and Inclusion team to achieve company goals.

Essential Skills 

  • Proven work experience within a generalist HR role
  • Ability to advise and work with senior members of staff
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation
  • Ability to design clear and fair company policies
  • Personable with strong communication and relationship building capabilities across all levels of the business
  • Driven and determined
  • Practical and logical; able to solve problems quickly 
  • Hands-on experience with IT programmes and HR systems 
  • Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to manipulate and interpret data
  • Ability to always practice discretion and confidentiality
