Your new role

We are looking for an experienced HR Consultant to join the HR and Payroll services on a part time ( 18.5 hours - Flexible ) and FTC basis until 31/12/2021

As a HR Consultant working in this team your Specialist Key Responsibilities will include:-

  • Contributing to the work of the Redeployment pool
  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of latest resourcing practices, approaches and methods, and deploy where appropriate
  • Work closely with Managers to ensure that recruitment campaigns run smoothly and as scheduled.
  • To provide a dedicated resource on behalf of Council to strategically lead on Resourcing activities for the Council, working with partner organisations
  • Contributing to the work of the wider HR Services team on specific projects as needed.
  • You will be required to undertake any other duties as may be required which are appropriate for grades of post, up to and including the grade of this post

    What you'll need to succeed

    To be successful in this role, In-depth knowledge of employment law as determined by EU legislation, national legislation and case law is required. You should have in depth working knowledge of employment law and relevant work practices, policies, and procedures, ideally in resourcing, redeployment, and recruitment. However, a generalist HR background will also be considered. Knowledge of local government policies, procedures, and conditions of service would be beneficial.

    You should also be working towards or have completed year 3 (electives) CIPD or equivalent in-depth knowledge and experience within an HR environment. 

    You will need to demonstrate and work to the Council’s Values and Behaviours.
