HR Manager - Part-time

HR ManagerEast London Part-Time This is a part time 17.5 hours per week position paid at £17.5-19k per annum (equivalent to £35-38k full time). Work days are Tue PM, Thu and FriA well-established and expanding creative industry training provider with a long track record of delivering positive outcomes for learners is looking for a HR Manager to join the team on a permanent basis.Key tasksWork in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of colleagues and young peopleManage the staff recruitment and induction processSubmit childcare voucher, pension and Healthshield starters and leavers monthlyMaintain staff HR files to ensure they are up to date including CPD and training recordsSet up systems to track and maintain records of staff holidays, sickness and absenceAdministrate the appraisal process and maintain central record of all appraisalsKeep the staff contact list up to dateImplement a staff page on the website and keep up to dateReview and update company policies and procedures - ongoing where needed but mostly on a two-year cyclePrepare staff data for internal reports, Ofsted and external auditsManage and administrate grievance and discipline processes including completing file notes for warnings etc.Manage and record updates to staff contracts and termsFirst point of contact for staff HR mattersProvide high level advice and strategic HR support to directors and managersStay current with all relevant legislation and development in HR to ensure the organisation is at the forefront of best practice in this areaAnnual update of staff files to ensure contact details and next of kin information is up to dateEnsure job descriptions are updated annually in line with business needs, and shared with staff Desired qualitiesCIPD qualified with active Associate or Chartered membership (essential)Experience of working at a management level in a similar roleDemonstrable experience of advising on HR related issues with a strong team working, relationship building and customer focus ethicExperience of working in public sector HR (desired but not essential)Experience of working in the creative industries, or with a creative background (desired but not essential)Warm and engaging communication style with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner and maintain confidentiality Outstanding communication skillsPositive, solution focused and proactive when managing and responding to dataExperience of working in education HR (desired but not essential)Experience of working in the creative industries, or with a creative background (desired but not essential) This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to work within a friendly and collaborative environment.
