Historically the business has undertaken internal audit requirements at Group level and through outsource arrangements.

The Head of Internal Audit (HIA) is in the process of bringing internal audit in-house and building an internal audit facility within FWG.

The successful candidate will be responsible for helping the HIA drive this change.

Role and Responsibilities The Internal Audit department currently consists of a HIA only.

The purpose of the new Internal Auditor role is to provide support to the HIA in providing audit services to the business alongside our external Auditors, who currently provide co-source support as required.

The role will suit an auditor wishing to maintain a strong work-life balance whilst wishing to develop themselves further with the support and mentoring of the HIA.

The Internal Auditor will be responsible for helping the HIA develop and deliver the annual audit plan and will be responsible for planning and executing audit reviews and evaluating the effectiveness of the control environment within the business.

The role requires the auditor to build strong and effective relationships with management across the business.

The auditor will undertake financial and operational reviews as well as reviews covering business reputation, culture and conduct risk, business growth, staff, treating customers fairly and ethics.

The auditor will assist the Head of Audit in providing assurance to stakeholders that they are managing business risks effectively and work with management in the business to ensure adequate action is taken to address audit findings reported.

The Internal Auditor will be expected to: Assist the HIA in preparing and delivering the annual plan which will identify risks and apply a risk-based approach audit methodology Conduct audit reviews to test systems and controls Produce professionally written reports highlighting audit findings and issues related to risks and work with the business to provide constructive management changes and address the issues reported Actively engage with staff to gain a good understanding of the business Ensure compliance with internal (audit methodology and risk management) and external (regulatory) requirements Perform ad hoc investigations and reviews at the request of the HIA Attend on behalf of the HIA where required, relevant committee, steering and senior management meetings during the year.

Essential Criteria · Currently studying for, or qualified in, a financial and/or audit qualification e.g.

ACA, ACCA, CIA, CIMA · Three years audit experience in the Financial Services sector Understanding of the IIA principles, business and operational risk and controls processes and procedures Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of controls within the business Investigative skills and ability to report in concise, risk focused manner with attention to detail, accuracy and factual reporting Good organisational and planning skills Able to communicate effectively to people at different levels within the Financial Wellness Group General office-based IT skills Good record keeping and document management skills Preferable Criteria · Understanding of consumer credit and debt management would be an advantage · Degree qualification or equivalent · IT Audit Experience & Skills · Data Analytic skills
