The ICO is looking for an experienced Lawyer to lead its International Transfers team. The role involves managing and co-ordinating the ICO’s caseload of Binding Corporate Rules (BCR) applications as well as assessing and providing guidance (both internally and externally) on all GDPR data transfer mechanisms. The post holder will take a leading role in developing the ICO’s international transfer policies and processes in the lead up to the UK’s implementation period completion day and beyond. The role will involve opportunities to undertake public speaking engagements and attend meetings with a range of external stakeholders both nationally and internationally.

We are looking for an experienced lawyer with management experience who is used to working with senior external stakeholders. You will have experience of leading significant projects and of managing or contributing to organisational change. You’ll also have a comprehensive knowledge of data protection laws and the ability to rapidly develop expertise in the field of international transfers.
