IT Developer - (Part-Time, Job-Share and Full-Time)

Location: Fareham, Swindon or Homeworker

The opportunity - What it’s all about:

Think of this role as an opportunity to make our platforms better -this could be in a number of ways! It might be through automation or continuous improvement design, or ensuring smooth operations of the platform, through to executing process enhancements and strategic upgrades. One things for sure, no two days will feel the same!

You’ll be part of the IT Shared Services team responsible for a global sanctions screening platform, reporting to the IT application owner. A key part of the role is to analyse platform needs and design, develop, document, and test platform enhancements, according to installation standards, procedures, and conventions. Customer obsession is at the heart of everything we do, so you’ll be driven by getting it right!

This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time. Please talk to us at an interview about the flexibility you may need.

Key Responsibilities - What you’ll be doing:

You’ll be in a team that provides a service rotation ensuring smooth running of the day-to-day processes of the platform. Part of this will be working with the business and IT teams to define new requirements, design solutions, estimate efforts, and implement the changes on agreed timelines.

You’ll be one of our “go-to” people to guide infrastructure teams in troubleshooting and upgrade tasks and last but not least, be able to identify automation opportunities for support processes and implement enhancements.

It’s a varied role but it means that you’ll be contributing to the IT direction in support of the strategic needs of the business units. We think that’s pretty great!

Your skills and experience - You’ll need these!:

We can help train and support you but we really need you to have some fundamentals; so what do we mean by this? Well, hands-on experience with Unix/Linux scripting, Windows scripting, programming, DataBase queries and design. Any of these will enable you to hit the ground running and spot those all-important opportunities for improvement that we mentioned earlier.

It would be great if you have studied or have direct experience of Windows and Linux operating systems, as well as some experience in operations / with production systems.

You’ll be joining a motivated, technical team who are self-starters and can naturally prioritise so we’d love to hear from you if you think this role is something you can get excited about.

The reward:

The salary offered for this role is between (£30,000 - £35,000) depending on experience. As well as this we offer an excellent lifestyle benefits package which includes:

  • 12% pension
  • 25 days holiday plus an additional 3 volunteering days
  • Annual company bonuses
