IT Risk Oversight and Information Security Analyst (Part Time)

About the Role

Part Time (21 hours)

It’s a great time to join our IT Risk team as we look towards building our capacity to deliver group strategy during 2021 and beyond.

Working as part of a small team within the second line of defence, this varied and exciting role is an excellent opportunity to further your career in IT Risk and Information/cyber security, an area which has seen exponential growth in recent years.

The purpose of the role is to provide central support to maintain an effective second line of defence risk framework, including the functions of IT Risk and Information Security.

This role will involve oversight and evaluation of first line activities and risk controls, particularly within the IT functions (part of Newcastle Strategic Solutions, NSSL) and an opportunity to provide support and recommendations for improvements.

The role will also involve the development, maintenance and improvement an Information Security Management System (ISMS) which is independently certified to ISO 27001.

About You

We are looking for someone who has experience of working in an IT Risk, IT/Cyber Security, Information Security or Technology Audit role.

You will have a good understanding of Information & Cyber Security, the ISO 27001 standard and IT Risk and the role of second line in IT Risk Management.

ISO27001 Lead Auditor qualification would be desirable as would an understanding of Operational Risk.

The successful candidate will also have, or be working towards, a relevant professional qualification, for example CISSP, CISM or CRISC. Support will be given to candidates who are looking to secure a professional qualification in this sector.
