The RSK Group offer a wide range of multidisciplinary environmental, technical  and contracting services.  These include ecology & arboriculture, habitat management, archaeology and cultural heritage, EIA & environmental management, transport planning, architecture, engineering, and site investigation & remediation amongst many others. The landscape team works closely with teams from across the group to deliver major infrastructure projects including transport; residential, industrial and commercial property; renewable energy generation; energy transmission; and waste management.

We have a consultancy role on the Homes England Estate Management Services Framework. This is primarily concerned with managing government-owned land awaiting development and encompasses a wide variety of site types and land uses.

What we are looking for - Landscape Managers in Hemel Hempstead, Tonbridge or Bristol

Due to our increasing workload we have a number of exciting opportunities for ambitious landscape consultants to join our  team in Hemel Hempstead, Tonbridge or Bristol, primarily delivering landscape management consultancy services for Homes England, for parks and open spaces, green infrastructure, business parks, residential areas, urban regeneration and environmental improvement schemes.

About you

As a landscape manager with RSK, you will be passionate about the environment, and in helping to create and manage healthy, sustainable, and resilient places for the benefit of people and wildlife.  You would be expected to ensure that landscapes can be effectively managed and maintained, preparing management plans and strategies, advising on new developments, designs and plans, and providing management-based solutions to site issues.

You will be required to undertake both field based  and office based work and will be expected to travel to various sites throughout the south, southeast and southwest of England, with the opportunity to work further afield. 

Whilst your  primary role will be to support the delivery of landscape management services there will be opportunities to also support us delivering wider landscape consultancy services.

The key tasks you will undertake include but are not limited to: 

  • Site surveys and appraisals

  • Production and implementation of landscape, habitat and conservation management plans.

  • Preparation of management plans for invasive non-native species.

  • Preparation of maintenance schedules.

  • Preparation of advisory reports and feasibility studies.

  • Liaise with third parties regarding the clients existing and proposed landscape management activity.

  • Tender preparation and administration, and contract management.

  • Liaison with clients and contractors on scope of works, work programmes and budgets.

  • Prepare detailed design proposals and construction information.

The skills and experience you will possess will include:

  • Degree or Masters in landscape management, landscape architecture or landscape planning or related.

  • Understanding/experience of:

    • Environmental legislation.

    • Landscape design and management principles and techniques across a range of landscape types.

    • Landscape surveying, appraisals and preparation of Landscape Management Plans.

  • Competency in Office 365, AutoCAD.

  • Competency in Keyscape, Adobe Creative Suite and Sketchup an advantage.

  • A high level of verbal and written communication skills in a commercial environment, including presentations and report writing.

  • The ability to work well within a team, assisting seniors as required.

  • Well organised to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.

  • Full clean driving license.
