The Role

Mizuho International plc’s (“MHI”) Legal & Compliance Department is looking for a legally qualified individual to work across a wide range of financial areas including:

The role will also include project work and general tasks including:

Supported Returners

This is the first of a small number of permanent, supoorted returner roles which we are looking to recruit across the company and are looking for experienced professionals who wish to restart their career in a high performing environment.  You will be provided with bespoke training and support for your particular role and will be given many opportunities to build relationships with colleagues and senior leaders from across the company.  We have a strong focus on mentorship and you will be given a buddy and a mentor to support you in your return to work.

We are looking for a strong team player with a legal background in banking/finance who has previous experience within the financial services sector. This position would suit a qualified / junior, common law jurisdiction lawyer that is looking to further their career in banking.

You will be supported in developing a good understanding of the relevant business areas and related financial products as much as the legal issues involved.   As a relatively small legal team of 11 people, all of our roles are broad and you will work with a variety of stakeholders across the department and the Company – flexibility of approach is therefore key.   The individual will be required to build strong stakeholder relationships and provide legal advice on an independent basis and which reflects the best interests of MHI as a corporate entity.

If you have excellent leadership and communication skills, strong problem-solving and analytical skills and are looking to return to work on a permanent basis following a career break of at least two years please do get in touch.
