Lawyer / Barrister full or part time

Professional Support / Knowledge Lawyers

Following a challenging year for many of us are you looking to move out / away from the City / Commute?  Why not consider a south coast lifestyle which can be part office / part WFH or even just part time!!

My client is changing the way their solicitors and other legal professionals stay up to date in their field of specialism.

They are looking to recruit up to three qualified and experienced solicitors or barristers, though you do not necessarily be currently practising.

The candidate:

Bang up to date with latest practice (not just the legal theory);

Experience of client-facing work (again so that the support they can deliver is highly practical, whether in devising checklists etc or  tailoring practical updates);

Awareness of systems and IT used in your relevant practice field(s) (ideally in larger firms so you can drive improvement.

The successful applicants are likely to be qualified as solicitors or barristers in England, with strong academics and experience of working in a high-achieving environment either as a fee-earner or in knowledge/support.

You will demonstrate a deep interest in your area of specialism, excellent communication skills both written and spoken, good IT skills, and familiarity with sector-leading resources such as PLC, LexisNexis, and/or Westlaw.

Roles:

The roles will require a close working relationship with the firm’s team managers to ensure that the firm’s lawyers, procedures and precedents are up to date and optimised.

The successful candidates will be required personally to maintain and develop the firm’s bank of precedent letters in the relevant area of law, to deliver training to lawyers on changes in law and practice, and to produce Briefing Notes and social media content for the firm’s website and social media channels.

Salary is dependent on experience:  The roles can be full-time or part-time, and although some remote working will be possible, some office-based working is essential to become familiar with the firm’s services, client base and culture.

The roles can be based in any of the firm’s offices in East Sussex and the three successful candidates will ideally be expected to cover all or most of the following disciplines:

Non-contentious: Company, Commercial, Employment

Litigation: Commercial Disputes, Personal Injury, Family

Non-contentious: Private Client and Property
