Salary: £35,000 FTE pro rata for 4 days a week which is £28,000

Leader Plus is a multi award winning Social Enterprise. We address the gender pay gap by helping parents to continue to progress up the career ladder through our Fellowship Programme.

You will join an impact focused social enterprise with a small but mighty team, an amazing group of mentors and fabulous Fellows who champion and support our work.

You will take responsibility for growing our Leaders Plus Fellowship programme by driving interest in our Fellowship, adding more potential applicants to the sales funnel, engaging both parents and HR leaders and supporting them to apply to our Fellowship.

As our Marketing Communications Manager, you will be the champion of our brand: you’ll do everything from the basic scheduling of tweets to reaching out to top CEOs to be inspirational speakers for our community of parents. You will be the designer and the data manager (e.g. google analytics) in chief.  We are a micro enterprise with two other employees so you’ll need to be someone who thrives in that environment where you can make decisions quickly and then implement them yourself. 

Your job is to attract parents to apply to our Fellowship programme. You will do this through:

  • Podcast: growing the podcast listener base for our 5* rated weekly podcast aimed at Leaders With Babies. This will include booking interesting interview guests in close collaboration with the host, working alongside our external podcast editor to manage the weekly upload, creating and scheduling podcast socials, creating interesting engaging content from the material to grow the community of listeners and taking charge of our small advertising budget. 
  • Managing the sales funnel: from increasing newsletter sign ups, to collecting expressions of interest to calls with prospective applicants and ultimately applications. 
  • Marketing events: we have events that support the sales funnel for thought leaders or interested parents. You’ll lead on arranging those including but not limited to proposing discussion topics and finding speakers who are the right fit.
  • PR: working with other organisations to share our Fellowship Programme via their channels (e.g. gender networks)
  • Website: maintaining and updating the WordPress website
  • Social media: specifically, we use social media to grow our networks, celebrate our Fellows and position ourselves as thought leaders


At this point, we should probably mention that we are a dynamic and fast paced organisation who are passionate about supporting leaders with babies and young children. If juggling isn’t for you, this role might not be, either. Our ambitious dreams mean there is a lot to do, and all with a “we need it yesterday” attitude. We really enjoy that environment and we hope you do, too. We expect you to work within your working hours usually which means you’ll need to be great at prioritising. 


What we are looking for:

  • You are a real all rounder. You write compelling copy, you have good technical experience and are confident with basis SEO, creative tasks in Canva, editing a WordPress website and  of course managing thriving social media channels.
  • You are brilliant at separating the wheat from the chaff.
  • You are numbers driven: you will evaluate what you do by looking at the numbers and you will chose what to do next informed by a clear strategy and by evaluating the insights. 
  • You are super at building relationships and convincing individuals to run our story.

What you’ll do:

  • Devise a solid plan so we have a clear direction on how we drive interest in the Fellowship from individuals and employers and grow and nurture our audience. 
  • Grow the podcast: we have an extremely loyal listener base
  • Add more people to the top of our sales funnel, probably through content marketing 
  • Move applicants along the sales funnel
  • Event based marketing (e.g. through webinars such as our recent event for parents or thought leader roundtables for HR Directors)
  • Further down the line, you will own the execution of new launches and new products (e.g. professional development programmes)


Essential skills and competencies:

  • Passion for Leaders Plus’ work and impact (you don’t have to be a parent though!)
  • Track record in achieving growth
  • Solid skills in Wordpress, Canva, Google Analytics, Mailchimp and across Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram 
  • Experience with paid advertising (Google Ads, LinkedIn and Facebook Ads, experience in podcast ads will be a bonus)
  • Content marketing experience
  • SEO skills
  • Results focused with a clear focus on data
  • Good at sorting out the wheat from the chaff and prioritising
  • Excellent at building PR relationships and bonus if you have good contacts
  • Integrity
  • Commercial awareness
  • Courage
  • Team collaboration skills
  • Creative
  • Initiative: ‘get stuff done’ kind of person

Here are some things that would be a bonus, but you may be an ideal candidate despite not having any of these.


  • B2B marketing experience
  • German
