Good Innovation is the UK’s leading social innovation consultancy, working only with organisations that do good. Over the last 10 years we have grown rapidly through word of mouth and repeat business, but we’ve never formalised or structured our marketing activity. But we have big plans to grow over the next 3-5 years, and our marketing will be a vital cog in that growth. We've created this initial 3 month role, but it may potentially turn into a permanent role at the end if it proves to be a success. The role offers you the chance to use your skills for good - and work for a company whose sole purpose is to have a positive benefit on society. How many roles can offer that!

This is an initial 6 month contract for 3 days a week. If the role proves to be a success, we'll be looking to make it a permanent role.

The type of person we’re looking for

Experience - we’re looking for someone with at least 3-5+ years marketing experience, ideally at a small creative or professional services 2-3 years experience, or somewhere with relevant and transferable experience.

A self-starter - someone who is results driven and thrives in an environment where you're given the freedom to work independently.

Attention to Detail and Eye for Design - sets the standard for high quality content and visually the marketing content we create needs to be of the highest standard.

Relationship and influencing skills - you need to be a people person, you’ll be working with the leadership team at Good Innovation, and directly with some of our clients.

Project management - you’ll need great organisational skills and an ability to manage and coordinate all the elements of our marketing.

Copywriting skills - a strong storyteller who can share ideas clearly and concisely, and extract insights from others to create strong copy

What you’ll be doing

Marketing Schedule being the owner of the GI marketing schedule, working with Partners and DIrectors to ensure it’s populated and the content goes out on time.

Monthly GI Newsletter you’ll be responsible for managing the process of producing and sending out our monthly newsletter. This includes agreeing the content with Partners, managing the content creation process, and any freelancers (copywriters or videographers), setting up the newsletter in Mailchimp, sending it, and doing the post-send reporting.

Quarterly Campaigns you’ll lead on the design and delivery of our quarterly marketing campaigns. This will involve collaborating with the GI team and working with our freelance copywriters and videographers. You’ll also be working with the leadership team to develop our point of view and approach to key problems facing the sector. This may involve interviewing thought leaders in innovation and change agents in the third sector, creating reports, organising events and finding speaker opportunities.

Linkedin You’ll be responsible for managing the GI Linkedin page. This will involve building and managing a content schedule, sourcing content and updates from both the team and your own research, ensuring content is posted on time, responding to comments, and finally analysing and reporting on key KPIs.

Introduction to Good Innovation

We partner with purpose-led organisations to create, test and incubate new ways to deliver both mission and money. We’re part innovation consultancy, part start-up builder and part venture studio. As a result we’re an eclectic team of purpose-led innovators, entrepreneurs, designers, researchers and developers and we’re looking for an experienced, passionate and highly skilled Senior Innovation Lead to join our growing team.

Our values drive everything we do at Good Innovation. If our values resonate with who you are, what you believe and how you typically like to work, then we may be a great fit for you.

  • Agitate For Change: We constantly look for new ways to do things better. We’re frustrated with the status quo, and feel compelled to continuously challenge ourselves and those around us to be brave and bold.
  • Only Accept Awesome: We know we’re only as good as our last output. We always produce work of the highest quality. We set and constantly raise our own bar so our clients are always blown away by the work we do.
  • Obsess Over Impact: We don’t tick boxes, we make shit happen. We always want the work we do to drive big and lasting change. We know that innovation is nothing without follow-through and it’s often the small dents we make that combine to drive the biggest impact.
  • Work & Win Together: We’ll only make the world a little bit better if we work together. We’re a people business first. We find and nurture relationships with people that share our vision and values and actively reject assholes. We know how to rally others to drive change but we listen as well as lead. We know what it means to be collaborative and facilitate fun and productive working relationships that bring the best out in people.
