Marketing Officer

About you

We are looking for a Marketing Officer to join our organisation.

You'll be working with research team to capture and publish relevant stories on our blog and to make sure they get shared on social media and beyond.

You'll also be working with the founder and our designers to help us upgrade our marketing collateral, to make sure that we have the right sales assets for potential customers. You'll work with us to set out the right strategy for getting our products and services in front of the right people. Finally, we're data people, so we need you to be monitoring different marketing initiatives and telling us whether they succeeded.

Where you'll fit

  • Engage with users and customers through proactive messaging

  • Co-write and disseminate blog posts, articles and reports

  • Use our social media to draw attention to our stories

  • Assist in research projects

  • Run our newsletter

What we can offer

  • Between £28,000 and £34,000 per annum for the right person.

  • Either part time or full time work, probably on a temp to perm basis, but we're open minded.

  • We will fit our work around your life, we won't expect you to put our work ahead of your family commitments.

  • We all work remotely and have done for several years, we're happy to work with you wherever you are, you just have to be able to align most of your work to our office hours (9am to 5pm GMT).

  • We are inclusive. We actively promote women in tech: we have a 30% funded apprenticeship scheme for women and our team is 50:50 split in gender.

About us

Spend Network ( is a data analysis company dedicated to gathering and analysing public contracting data. We’re a small, friendly team that cares about doing our best work. We’re open to remote working and flexible working. So we'd be really happy to work with someone who was returning to work, could only work 9-to-3, or needed a job share. We work with procurement data and have the largest, open database of tenders in the world (you can see some of it here: We work with governments and organisations around the world to improve the way they spend money. We sell our data to businesses and Governments, but also make the data available for free to academics, journalists and activists. Our research has recently been featured in the BBC and the FT.

Skills And Qualifications


  • Knowledge of business to business marketing and communications.

  • Experience demonstrating logical and numerical thinking.

  • Use of marketing tools such as Wordpress, Mailchimp, Google Analytics and Intercom to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing projects.

  • Proficient in either Microsoft Office or Google G-Suite packages.


  • An interest in either government and public services, or finance and business.

  • Ability to create stories out of excel sheets, trust us it is possible.
