Role Title: MI Analyst – Part-Time, Job-Share and Full-Time

As an MI Analyst you will support our Engineering Business within the MI team, working in partnership with our senior stakeholders and other internal teams creating management information (MI) reports and solutions for all areas of the business. You’ll be responsible for production of a portfolio of reports, ad-hoc analysis and projects to help the make better data-driven decisions, streamline our processes, and support profitable development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, and manage production of a portfolio of MI reports and dashboards of varying frequencies.
  • Effective communication with relevant stakeholders to fully assess their data requirements, working to agreed SLAs, and delivering exceptional service.
  • Collaborate with IT, and other internal teams in the delivery of appropriate solutions.
  • To promote self-service through proactive coaching and training of colleagues on various systems and tools to improve data analysis capability and share best practices.
  • Comprehensive data extraction, cleansing, and validation from Engineering platforms and systems to support downstream analysis.
  • Generate Business Insights through collaboration with business Subject Matter Experts
  • Present analysis findings, and data in an effective and appropriate form to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Document as-is and to-be business reporting data models, processes and workflows, identifying relevant problems with existing systems and processes.
  • To challenge the status quo by introducing new perspectives and innovative thinking beyond recognised ways of doing things
  • To comply fully with all regulatory requirements, and our internal data governance policies.
  • Your skills and experience:

  • Degree calibre with excellent Excel spreadsheet capabilities
  • Has worked in industry to gain experience of: Finance with a good knowledge of VAT requirements. Knowledge of engineering terminology and working practices. Project work to deliver an MI solution Scripting queries against a database Designing a report for MI purposes
  • Knowledge and use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other report writing applications.
  • Ability to work autonomously, as well as effectively collaborating within a team
  • Good knowledge and understanding of IT and data concepts.
  • Creative problem solving, critical thinking, as well as an analytical and strategic skill set.
  • Effective communicator, with a high level of interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to explain complex issues in a concise and straightforward way to a wide range of audiences.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and resources to consistently prioritise and deliver within a fast-paced environment.
  • Desirable experience of the following: Working in a customer focussed environment, ideally within an insurance or Engineering business Knowledge of engineering / inspection terminology and working practices. Exposure to enterprise data analysis and BI Tools and technologies (Excel, VBA, Power BI, MicroStrategy, Qlik Sense, R, Python etc.) Reconciliation experience and an understanding of financial concepts.
