Part Time Accountant

Elevation Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be working in partnership with a reputable organisation based in the Sheffield area as they look to expand their team with a knowledgeable & committed Company Accountant on a part time basis (3 Days Per Week)!

The successful candidate will be joining a small, friendly office working closely with the team to provide support across a range of duties from transactional finance through to the month-end preparation. You will become part of a close-knit team and have strong managers around you that genuinely care about their staff, their motivations and team moral.

Key responsibilities of the Accountant will include:

• Close both purchase and sales ledger, and ensure accurate reconciliations
• Raise monthly bacs payments and ensure cash management procedures are adhered to
• Reconcile and upload payroll journals into the accounts
• Payroll Reporting
• Contribute to monthly and year end accounts production
• Complete project monitoring forms and provide support to managers and budget holders
• Perform account reconciliations, raise journals, and ensure all costs are appropriate
• Ensure accurate cost and forecasting models
• Reconcile the control accounts including VAT
• Monitor compliance to systems and processes to provide training
• Assess and develop the finance system, processes, and reporting requirements
• Process improvements
• Manage data on finance systems
• Engage and build strong working relationships with users at all levels and roles within the business

My client is keen to find someone with the below skills:

• At least 2 years' experience within an all-round Accounts Assistant role
• Strong IT skills including knowledge of Excel
• Ability to pick up new tasks and systems quickly
• Hands-on approach and proven ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Strong communication skills and telephone manner
• Educated to AAT level (desired but not essential)
