Within this position the Part Time Assistant Accountant will have ownership of VAT, ensuring the Client is compliant rules, completing HMRC returns to reclaim VAT on a monthly basis.

Description The Part Time Assistant Accountant will be responsible for: Develop and manage Tax planning Completing HMRC returns to reclaim VAT Improving existing processes You will be required to investigate and resolve queries from internal and external customers Monthly processing of business invoices in a timely and accurate manner Supporting with month end and the production of management accounts Supporting the senior finance team with the monthly processing; accruals, recharges and pricing Assisting with the continued development of the business systems and processes Supporting monthly management accounts preparation Preparation and smooth running of payment runs Supplier statement and bank reconciliations Production of monthly reports and journalsProfile The successful candidate for the Part Time Assistant Accountant will be: Able to show a proven track record across a previous role involved in VAT A energetic individual eager to get stuck in AAT Qualified would be advantageous but not essential Experience using SAP would be advantageous but not essential Confident user of Excel and systems Confident working in a sole capacity as well as a team Knowledgeable of VAT laws including future changes An excellent communicator both written and verbal A true self starter Comfortable working at a fast pace in an accurate professional mannerJob Offer The successful candidate for the position will be joining a truly brilliant business to work for in Bedford with the opportunity to step in right away and support their growth with the Not for profit and charities sector, whilst earning a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package
