Part-Time Bookkeeper

We are recruiting for a Part-Time Bookkeeper to join a family owned business in Witham. This is a Part-Time Permanent role working around 32 hours a week and paying £12.00 - £16.00 per hour depending on experience. Role Overview: The Bookkeeper/ Office Administrator is responsible for following the accounting procedures of the company. To oversee a wide range of accounting and administrative related tasks independently with little supervision. You must be well organised, flexible and enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting a small office of diverse people.Key Duties & Responsibilities for this Part-Time Bookkeeper will include but are not limited to:Cover all bookkeeping/accounts duties for main business & 2 side businessesProcess purchase invoices, match with purchase orders and allocatingManage the purchase ledger including reconciling supplier statements and allocating paymentsManage the sales ledger by producing sales invoices and statements as directedUndertake credit control both written and over the telephone to ensure regular payments from suppliersProcess and Submit VAT returnsProcess monthly payroll using XeroDeliver excellent customer service ensuring that queries are resolvedMaintain general office and housekeeping responsibilities including filing, scanning and mailingManage training and accreditations to ensure they are up to dateHR duties such as including onboarding new staff (minimal)Secretarial duties for Directors such as filtering calls, booking appointments as requiredAny other duties that may seem appropriate to the post as requested by the Directors.Personal Specification:Experience working in a sole role with responsibility for all bookkeeping of a businessExperience of dealing with customers and staff with excellent customer service skillsMust be somebody that can be easily trusted and keep confidencesAbility to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with a high level of attention to detail and accuracyHave experience and excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office (inc.
