Job Category: Bookkeeper Job Location: Chester, North West England, United Kingdom Simpson Judge are working with a growing business based in Chester who require an experienced Bookkeeper to manage the accounting and maintenance of the books. This role is initially part time but will increase as the business grows. This role requires strong Xero knowledge. Responsibilities: - Ensuring all supplier invoices have the appropriate approvals- Sales invoicing- Ensure accuracy of postings to correct ledgers- Validating and posting VAT returns- Working with the invoice finance company and account managers to ensure the debtors" book is kept clean and verified - Reviewing staff expenses, ensuring all back-up and approvals are provided, and correctly coded to projects and chart of accounts- Processing supplier invoices and staff expenses in accordance with policies- Credit control- Processing supplier payments- Journal postings, accruals and prepayments, intercompany accounts- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations- Uploading payment runs for approvals- Supporting the CEO in the housekeeping of control accounts and month-end close- Handling daily communications with suppliers- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reports- Analyse all accounting records and ensure financial data is reliable and gives a true and fair view of the financial position- Support the CEO with the day-to-day, monthly and year-end operations of the finance departmentRequirements: - AAT Qualified/Qualified by Experience- Xero experience is essential- Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
