The position is offered on a\u00A0permanent, part-time basis of\u00A020\u00A0hours, which can be flexibly\u00A0worked\u00A0across the week\u00A0as per the preference of the successful candidate. With\u00A0agreement this role can be split between the charity HQ and worked\u00A0remotely, however the successful candidate will be expected to work in the office for some time every week.\u00A0\n\nReporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this role holds pivotal\u00A0responsibility within the charity. The Finance Manager will lead the day-to-day financial controls and financial reporting to the board of trustees\u00A0and senior management team. It\u2019s a broad ranging opportunity that\u00A0blends transactional, commercial and strategic development of the\u00A0charity.\u00A0\n\nKey responsibilities include:\u00A0\n- Preparation of annual accounts to Trial Balance\n- Lead month end procedures to include bank reconciliation,\u00A0prepayments, accruals, sales\/purchase ledger and payroll\n-\u00A0Alerting CEO to underpends\/overspends on different funding lines and spotting opportunities\n- Cashflow management\n- Produce monthly management accounts with running commentary\n- Forecasting and project costings\n- Statutory submissions to Companies House and the Charity\u00A0Commission\n- Annual budgeting, with regular budget adjustments and forecasts\n- Gift Aid management and\u00A0reclaim\n- Petty cash control\n\n\nWhat we\u2019re looking for:\u00A0We\u2019re looking for an experienced female\u00A0accountant who possesses at least two years\u2019\u00A0recent exposure in a\u00A0similar position. Previous experience of charity accounting and partial\u00A0VAT exemption\u00A0is highly\u00A0desirable though not essential,\u00A0assuming an\u00A0aptitude to learn new skills and procedures. Experience of using Xero cloud-based accounting\u00A0software\u00A0and a good\u00A0knowledge of MS Excel\u00A0is\u00A0essential.\u00A0You will be a self-starter, able to use your initiative, pick up and run with your own role and be good at self-motivation.\u00A0Given the nature of the organisation,\u00A0a strong culture fit will be\u00A0a\u00A0key criteria.
