Elevation Recruitment are pleased to be working on an exclusive basis for a successful service business in Sheffield as they look to recruit a part-time Financial Controller. The role will comprise of 3 days per week (Can be flexible on days, hours worked etc) depending on the requirements of the successful candidate.
The purpose of the role is to provide robust day to day management of the finance department including month end process and ensuring consistent accuracy of financial transactions within the function. Also, to provide timely and accurate analysis and reports on key financial data within the organisation ensuring, that information is communicated effectively to senior stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities:
•Full production of monthly management accounts including P&L and Balance Sheet, conducting variance Analysis and providing related commentary
•Cashflow forecasting/ monitoring and reporting
•Managing budgets/ reforecasting
•Managing 1 member of staff (Accounts Assistant)
•Business partnering with Project managers and other stakeholders to review financials/ manage budgets and review/ discuss variances
•Regular liaison with Managing Director/ Directors and Shareholders to discuss the financial position and agree action plans where required
•Gross margin reporting
•Management of accruals, prepayments and WIP
•Calculation of VAT Returns and VAT Analysis/ EC Sales and Intrastat
•All Banking responsibilities (signatory) and bank reconciliation
•Fixed asset management
•Monitoring the administration of the employer’s contributions to employee’s Personal Pension Schemes liaising with Financial Advisers
•Act as the main point of contact to external accountants/auditors and provide all required information
•Producing draft statutory accounts for the Company, external Accountants and Audit Preparation
•PSC filing at Companies House
•Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed and reported and that all accounting policies comply with the relevant accounting standards
•Driving continuous improvement across the department to ensure best practice as well as developing systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company's finances and projects
•Qualified or Qualified by Experience
•At Least 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
•Clear and effective communication skills
•Good reporting and analytical skills
•Strong knowledge of SAGE would be highly desirable
•Adaptable and flexible approach to work
