As one of the UK's leading providers of multimedia content and services, the business is offering the exciting opportunity to shape this newly created role and support the expansion of the Group's operations both in the UK and worldwide.


The successful Group Tax Manager will be expected to:

  • Ensure the Group meets and maintains all tax compliance requirements, covering corporation tax, indirect tax, and employment taxes
  • Oversee and review VAT compliance across the Group, including preparation of VAT returns in the UK and Ireland, and GST returns in other international jurisdictions
  • Assess new UK VAT legislation for applicability and communicate changes / related potential impacts to the Finance and Commercial teams
  • Act as the key point of contact with the Group's UK and international tax advisors on other aspects of tax compliance, including the preparation of corporation tax returns, R&D claims, and GST returns
  • Manage tax impacts for UK and international business development, ensuring that the right level of advice is sought for new territories/new business, or if there is perceived to be significant tax risk attached to a specific transaction
  • Preparation and presentation of management/board memos and training materials on an ad hoc basis
  • Review and refinement of direct and indirect tax governance policies, processes, and procedures to ensure the continuous improvement and enhancement of the Group's working practices to ensure it remains fit for purpose as the business grows and tax risks change


The successful Group Tax Manager will have the following attributes/skills/experience:

  • Well organised with a keen eye for detail and comfortable working to deadlines and prioritising
  • Comfortable working independently, with a low level of supervision
  • Experienced working in or with large, complex businesses
  • An outstanding communicator able to express financial information in a manner that can be understood by non-financial stakeholders
  • CTA / ACA / ACCA qualification (or equivalent)
  • Strong indirect tax experience gained from a top tier accounting firm or in an industry setting
  • Working knowledge of other taxes, in particular, corporation tax
  • Excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills, with a commercial and proactive approach to problem-solving
  • High levels of enthusiasm and an interest to get to know a diverse and fast-paced media business

Job Offer

The successful Group Tax Manager will receive:

  • £50,000 - £60,000 FTE (22.5 hours per week) + a range of other benefits
