Prospectus is pleased to be partnering with openDemocracy to appoint their an Interim Part-Time HR Manager. openDemocracy is a global, non-profit media platform that seeks to challenge power and inspire change through producing high-quality journalism, and by training and mentoring groups typically under-represented in the media.The team are looking to appoint the HR Manager for a 9 month contract (3/4 days a week) to lead the establishment of a more robust HR unit for our expanding global operation. The role has a clear mandate to continue with initiatives already in motion to develop systems and procedures to achieve best practices in recruiting, training and staff development, and in diversity, equity. Building on their DEI audit, the HR Manager will work with partners to ensure best practices around diversity, equity, and inclusion, including developing and implementing effective and consistent training and mentorship programs. Also, following a recently commissioned global compensation review exercise, you will support on the administering of an equitable employee compensation and benefits system for the organisation. The role will also span day to day HR functions and you will be responsible for some administration duties and management of the monthly payroll.The right candidate will possess extensive leadership experience in human resources and be comfortable supporting leadership across the HR remit. Alongside this you will have strong personal integrity, fairness and a track record of high credibility to gain trust from all levels of the organisation. The role requires someone who has some experience in delivering on DEI commitments for an organisation and who has also worked in providing HR solutions to a global team. The HR Manager will be able to work at the macro level as well as effectively on the day to day HR functions.
