Hours: 30 hours per week (flexible) *Up to 4 hours weekend work required on occasions to assist new business
*Preference for someone to work in the office 2 days per week.
Salary: £100,000 - £120,000 pro rata
About the Company
I am working with a leading investment management company which specialises in private markets with a focus on sustainable investment. The main areas of investment are private debt capital and private equity on a global scale. The company manages over 5 Billion in assets currently.
About the Role
You will be working within a small legal team of 2 reporting into the COO.
The business operates on a flat structure which will offer a level of autonomy. You will be exposed to a wide remit of work including negotiating term sheets, reviewing purchase and shareholder agreement contracts, incentive schemes.
The company is delivering several exciting projects and you will be a become a big part in scaling the business.
The work is a combination of NDAs, Contracts, Term Sheets, SH agreements, Sales agreements, (have an understanding of) tax structuring and liaising with the Management entities in Guernsey via their administrators etc. There will also be some compliance work, both FCA and SEC relate.
You will be a dynamic seasoned Counsel with experience in investments or alternative investments - such as private equity, venture capital, debt, infrastructure, would be desirable. The ideal candidate will be a generalist who can turn their hand to wide range of work and will have a commercial pulse.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working in an SME environment and likes to feel part of the bigger picture and who will relish contributing to the overall performance of the company.
- University degree or equivalent and qualified lawyer
- 5-10 year PQE (as a guide)
- Strong experience working in private markets
- Good communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in private practice and/or in-house in a FS/ Investment Company
- Exposure to wide range of commercial contracts
- Good drafting and written communication skills
- Flexibility to work up to 3 hours on the weekend when required
