Operating in a hybrid role, act as an intermediary between the legal and compliance teams.
Principle functions will be collaborating and strategizing with the general counsel and chief compliance officer to design and effect enhancements to the processes of monitoring and adapting the business in preparation of changes in regulations and laws.
You will Assist the general counsel and head of compliance with opportunities for enhancements to processes and procedures Own and managing all legal and regulatory horizon planning activities to: (i) ensure the business remains compliant with upcoming regulatory and legal changes; and (ii) identify new opportunities to support clients in response to changes in law and regulations Own and managing top priority business projects from start to finish, which will involve designing and overseeing all aspects of the project including: defining the target purpose and outcome, procuring and managing recourses (both internal and external), scoping (and procuring approval of) budget, managing progress against strict timelines and reporting directly to key stakeholders and the executive committee Provide expert guidance and advice on regulatory matters, collaborating with the group’s compliance staff and legal staff in order to resolve any regulatory issues faced by the business or to help implement enhancements to regulatory policies and procedures Responding to legal and compliance queries from operational departments, internal control/support groups, client integration/client services teams, senior management and entity boards, all with respect to applicable laws and regulatory matters affecting the business and its client services Advising the business on day-to-day legal and regulatory matters across all key jurisdictions of the business and assisting the business with managing legal risk Manage and coordinate with external legal counsel, where required, to advise senior management and to generally support all business functions Attending to any other ad hoc duties as required
