Jacobs & Co is a growing, privately owned London-based bookkeeping and accounting firm, specialising in a broad range of accounting services – from one day a week to full-time support – for an exciting range of dynamic small to medium sized clients. Established in 2010, our recent growth means that we’re now looking for an additional part-time bookkeeper/accountant to help us support an ever-expanding portfolio of clients.


Flexible to fit around your family life

When we say ‘part-time’ we mean it, the right candidate will be able to schedule their own working hours to fit around their family life. We’re interested in the quality of your work and the consistency of your delivery, not a 9–5 individual, so if you wish to do your hours early morning to lunchtime or late afternoon to late in the night, that is the flexibility we are offering you.


Where you work is also in your hands. This can be a 100% remote role, alternatively, should you wish to work from an office, you have that option too. Once again, we are flexible to the preferences of the right candidate.


The position

We are looking for someone to support us in supporting our clients across a variety of bookkeeping and accounting tasks, from data entry to management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and year end.


Initially we are looking for the position to be 20 hours a week, though this may expand over time, depending on client demand and your capacity to commit to additional hours.


The salary for this position is £36,000 pro rata.


We are not looking for a part-time mindset – we want someone to become a valued member of our team, someone who will join the Jacobs & Co family and who will reflect the same commitment to us as we afford our clients every day.


The perfect candidate

We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running, someone qualified, experienced, technically savvy, and ready to get stuck into a varied role with an interesting mix of SME clients.

  1. be AAT qualified to Level 4 or any equivalent level of accounting/bookkeeping qualification;
  2. have over 5 years of solid accounting/bookkeeping experience; and
  3. be proficient with the three main tools we use – Xero, QBO and Sage Line 50.
