Role: PHP Developer (Part time/ full time)

Salary: £50K- £60K DOE (pro-rata if part time)

Location: Sheffield (this role is a hybrid or fully remote role, with x2 days in the office per month required)

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am- 17:00pm 

Our client is an automated web based company who sell their software into a specific industry. After merging with a company in London this client has grown massively and created some amazing opportunities.

We’re looking for a developer to support and maintain our v1 application as we roll out the latest version and eventual replacement.

This role is genuinely very flexible, it can be part time, full time, remote or hybrid – can be full time office based in our Sheffield office if you wish!
This role be well suited to a returner to work who is looking for flexibility, or perhaps someone who really enjoys their work, is happy to put in the effort and time when they are at work but no longer wants the stress out of hours, or maybe even someone who is looking to slow down a bit and get out of the ‘rat -race’ but is certainly not ready to hang up their coding hat just yet!

Key responsibilities:

  • Work with stakeholders to understand issues customers are experiencing and provide fixes.
  • Identify areas of functionality to extract into standalone services that can be reused by the v2 application.
  • Consume v2 services to add new functionality for customers that are not yet migrated.

    About you

    You should apply if you have:

  • Strong experience building applications with PHP 7 and above.
  • Strong experience building and maintaining wordpress applications.
  • Demonstrable experience with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, etc.
  • You should also be:

  • Good at debugging and troubleshooting complex problems.
  • Biased towards writing clean, testable code.
  • And it would be super great if:

  • Have experience with templating frameworks such as Handlebars JS
  • You know what it’s like to work in a young company and love the vibe (and sometimes chaos!)
