Product Innovation and Partnerships Ecosystem Team

We’re building a team of creators and innovators to work with our industry experts in finding new scalable digital products and services in the built environment. Our Digital Hub is now entering into its next phase of growth, as part of this we are recruiting a team of entrepreneurially minded commercially focused experts to work with technical teams to realise our product and service ambitions. We are flexible in regards to where the role is based in the UK.

The Role

You will be joining a fantastic team that is full of ambitious, talented, and creative people who are passionate about applying technology to create great digital solutions and services. This role will be regularly involved in fostering collaboration across our strategic businesses to support the development of digital products for the built environment. The role will involve working on greenfield ideas, supporting business groups to mature their nascent ideas into commercially viable products. You will be supported in the development of business cases, pulling together relevant market sizing and assessment, and offering business model suggestions which are able to support the product offering through the business.

Reporting to the Digital Hub, Product Innovations Leadership Team, you will play a key role in shaping our product portfolio and enhancing the capability of our business groups to build and adopt new technologies. The role will require you to work broadly across Arup domains, having a diverse perspective of the opportunities in the Built Environment space. You will be working closely with the team leaders, supporting the ambition to foster great innovation across Arup.

Key responsibilities

  • Reaching out to domain groups, coordinating innovation drives and creating open ideation opportunities for the team to pursue. 

  • Delivering through the early stages of the product lifecycle from ideation through to MVP and potentially beyond into successful commercialisation. 

  • Facilitating workshops to cover the early stage understanding of markets, competition and customer/user requirements in depth to identify market opportunities, build business cases, and define product vision and strategy.

  • Working closely within the Product Innovations and Partnerships Ecosystems team in the Digital Hub to develop the product portfolio. 

  • Supporting other product managers, user experience researchers and partnerships managers to deliver digital solutions across a range of verticals. 

  • Working closely with internal stakeholders across the UK and abroad to identify internal digital needs and identify product opportunities. 

  • Growing and facilitating diverse product teams that can deliver scalable solutions for business groups that solve real world problems. 


  • Mid / Senior level’ work experience within a digital setting, ideally displaying experience in engaging with early stage ideation and innovation.

  • Experience in carrying our user research, market and competitor analysis and working with technical teams to define product backlogs.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, good analytical mindset

  • Generalist outlook, comfortable in adapting to working across different industries.

  • Excellent relationship management skills - ability to create and maintain long-term relationships with internal stakeholders and industry influencers in both technical and commercial disciplines.

  • Needs to be passionate and enthusiastic about technology, technological advancements, and the Built Environment and able to interpret opportunity for Arup in the context of existing consultancy business models
