We all come to work every day and pull together; the way we help our clients is exceptional because Family Law is all we do.In the last few years we’ve grown our business by over 150% and laid the groundwork to build something special, so now is a great time to join us.What’s the role of a Professional Skills Lawyer at Stowe?The role of a Professional Skills Lawyer (PSL) with Stowe Family Law is to support and facilitate legal knowledge development, and best practice sharing, across the firm’s network of offices. Our PSL will do this by developing our Stowe know-how, to drive efficiency and profitability. The PSL will also create opportunities to use knowledge as a driver for business. This role reports to the Senior Partner / Head of Operational Effectiveness as part of our central Legal Operations Support, to identify and meet the knowledge needs of colleagues across the whole network.Ideally, you will be;* An experienced practitioner in Family law with at least 7 years’ PQE - preferably with PSL experience.* Proven ability within a commercial and pressurised environment.* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.* Effective, sound decision-making skills and good judgement.As a Professional Skills Lawyer what will I be responsible for?* Drafting, reviewing, maintaining and updating precedents, practice notes, checklists, toolkits, clause banks and all other forms of know-how required by the practice group.* Leading, motivating and facilitating knowledge sharing and best practice within the practice group, taking responsibility for developing a collaborative, knowledge-sharing culture among all lawyers. This will involve:i) Facilitating and leading know-how meetings and other activities to ensure that new developments, legal and practical knowledge and experience is shared andii) Collecting useful know-how from lawyers, reviewing this and making it available via the Knowledge system, Jostle, or by other appropriate methods.* Working collaboratively with the Head of Operational Effectiveness and the Senior Partner to identify the external knowledge resources (legal and business-based) required by the group.What’s in it for me?If you’re ambitious and enjoy a challenge then we’ll offer you a great salary, a chance to work in a sophisticated, data driven environment with wonderful people working in a really clever way.
