The opportunity

We have opportunity for a Property & Climate Change Consultant to join our diverse, passionate team.

Zurich Resilience Solutions is pivotal to supporting our customers internally and externally, with market leading risk management solutions which include survey programmes, account management, thought leadership advice and much more. The role of a Risk Engineering Consultant is a fantastically diverse and rewarding role which includes dedicated customer service account management, technical credibility, project management and a consultative approach to Risk Management.

We are looking for an experienced candidate to provide sustainability and resilience practices to our internal and external customers in further developing our portfolio of climate change and natural hazard solutions in the UK and internationally.

The ideal candidate will have experience in leading climate change, natural hazard, and environmental sustainability projects, this could be with corporate organisations, local authority or charities. An insurance background is not necessary.

Key Accountabilities;

  • Perform multi-location natural hazard mapping and analyses
  • Assist customers in limiting their exposure to natural hazards within the UK and Internationally
  • Deliver physical climate risk assessments and provide related advisory services assessing the impact of climate change on future flood risk and advising on adaptation in the natural environment
  • Assist customers with the development of sustainability strategies and support integration into delivery and disclosure
  • Leading project/tasks and working within teams to deliver climate change, natural hazard and sustainability related projects
  • Work across several projects and proposals, including infrastructure and major project climate assessments, sustainable infrastructure, climate change & sustainability strategy, carbon footprint and net zero planning enterprises
  • Prioritise individual workload to efficiently and effectively deliver for our customers in line with Global metrics
  • Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Experience working with organisational protection measures for natural hazards
  • Demonstrated experience in advising on and integrating low carbon and resilient solutions into infrastructure design and business planning
  • In-depth understanding of climate change science, natural hazards and the practical implementation
  • Practical experience and technical expertise in one or more of the following fields: climate change mitigation analysis, low carbon technologies and energy efficiency, climate change vulnerability and adaptation assessment, greenhouse gas emissions inventories/assessment, emissions trading systems, Monitoring Reporting and Verification (MRV) system development, climate change policy development/analysis
  • Knowledge of UK/EU/UN climate change legislation and processes.
  • A science-based background relevant MSc or equivalent qualification in Sustainability, Carbon, Natural Hazards, Energy or similar
  • Seize opportunities to innovate by rapidly applying market and customer insights
  • Build trusted relationships and promote collaborative teamwork, seeking diverse perspectives from internal and external partners
  • Tailor solutions in the best interests of our customers, understanding the evolving landscape and future needs
